Your Mission, if you choose to accept it….
The objectives of the #SXSWNOLA delegation is:
- To provide educational and business opportunities to delegation members and sponsors
- Evangelize the state of Louisiana as a digital media hotspot
- Communicate a cohesive message of tech readiness in Louisiana
- Support local business leaders participating in the SXSW conference
Provide Educational & Business Opportunity for Members
Members of the delegation will meet to the industry leaders. We’ll see presentations on technology, marketing, legal, and creative issues, and have access to, literally, an entire industry in a concentrated environment. Delegates can explore new business opportunities, compare their findings with each other and approach people they may otherwise never gain access to. We will leverage our status as the Louisiana delegation as an entree to conversations with leaders from around the world who are particularly interested in the future of Louisiana. It’s a unique and incredibly concentrated opportunity to advance a group of our region’s Digital Media leaders over the course of just a few days.
Expressing Tech Readiness of Louisiana
SXSWNOLA has arranged for the transportation and lodging of 30 ambassadors to Austin and create promotional events to maximize exposure there. While at SXSW, we will deliver consistent messaging and concrete examples of the progress Louisiana is making in digital media. We’ll be visually identifiable as the Louisiana delegation and promote the sponsoring companies and groups in various creative ways, including a branded bus wrap touring the city, visibility at the conference with a trade show booth highlighting the opportunities available to digital media individuals and organizations in New Orleans and across the state, a New Orleans party with live entertainment downtown, and additional collateral pieces such as t-shirts, stickers and hand-outs. We will blog, stream video, tweet and document its journey online. We’ve proven our ability to attract attention in unconventional ways, and we’ll capitalize on that attention to deliver our message.
Support Local Community Leaders
Matthew Tritico will moderate a panel featuring members of the New Orleans tech community including Chris Schultz, Damien Lamanna, Tiffany Starnes, & Chris Boudy. This is a very special opportunity; the panel is one of just 280 panels selected from more than 1300 submissions. Entitled: Uprising Tide: Inciting Online Communities into Offline Movements, the panel will focus on the growth of the Louisiana and New Orleans tech community and will highlight the digital media tax incentives offered in Louisiana.
