Collectively, New Orleans is a city of doers, go-getters, and creative types. A lot of this creativity has spilled over into industries such as film, print, and the web.  To celebrate this, The Gambit is hosting the 2010 Best of New Orleans Web Awards, highlighting the efforts of individuals in the digital space.

The web awards lists 15 different categories:

2010 NOLA Web Awards

The public can nominate anyone in any of the fifteen categories between now and June 4^th, 2010.  After the 4^th, the entries will go through a round of selections by local industry experts.  Three finalists from each category will then be put on display for the public to make the final vote.

• Now - June 4 Nomination period from public
• June 4 - June 7- Judging Period from Supporting Sponsors
• June 8 - June 22- People vote on the top 3 finalists in each category
• June 29 - Winners announced in Gambit

Jeanne Foster, Marketing Director at Gambit told us that they hope theses awards lead people to discover some of the online gems in New Orleans.  “We really want to recognize the creatively, time, and work that New Orleans locals put into their websites.” says Ms. Foster.

In addition to bragging rights, the winners from each category will receive a $50 gift card from Best Buy.  As an added bonus, a random voter during the finalists’ selection period will win a laptop from Best Buy as well.
