2009 eWards

The Louisiana Technology Council held their 6th annual Technology eWards last week where they awarded local companies and organizations for their contribution to a the New Orleans tech scene.  Hosted at the Winsdor Court, the gala started off with introductions of special guests and the keynote speaker by Mark Lewis, President of the LTC.

Philip Holt, VP and GM for Electronic Arts – Tiburon/EA Sports gave an excellent keynote speech about the evolution of technology in gaming, how EA Sports is working toward integrating new digital media into their games, and the need to look at new models for digital delivery.  Starting from the 70′s, Holt went through a gaming timeline that showed the attention to details that went into all aspects of game design and how they related to the boom of the gaming industry.  He then went on to explain how businesses, such as the one he works for, have a new challenge in entertaining a new generation of users.

  1. This Preserving Our Wetlands/Archbishop Chapelle H.S. sounds extremely interesting, would love to leran more about this one.

  2. It was a fun afternoon (not just because we left with an award). Philip’s keynote was even better than I had anticipated as he went way beyond simply discussing sports games. It was also nice to meet you there Chris.
