Spotlighting NOLA Websites

View Comments

Not only does New Orleans have a lot of great local spots to eat, relax, and play but we also have quality websites that keep New Orleanians up on the times.  Here a just a couple of NOLA sites that are buzzing around the interwebs:

Good NOLA News:  Tried of hearing all about the bad news in the city?  Need a change of pace, something uplifting?  Good NOLA News spotlights all the good things that are happening in the city.  The website is constantly updated with information so you’ll never miss a beat.

Only In NOLA:  Since New Orleans has already invaded Twitter & Facebook, Only In NOLA is now digging it’s heals into Ning.  The site gives you all the features that Ning already has with some NOLA flavor too.

NOLA Broad Squad:  Remember the really cool people you knew in high school?  Now couple that with people that are into technology, partying, and painting the town red, excuse me, pink and you’ve got the NOLA Broad Squad.  With their tweetups, calendar of events, and witty personalities they have their pulse on New Orleans.  Gentleman, don’t worry, you can hop on the bandwagon as well.

Evacuteer:  A powerful movement that calls on our own citizens to act into case of a mandatory evacuation.  Evacuteer trains volunteers on what to do in the case of an evacuation during an event of a hurricane.  Their vision is to “use volunteer manpower as well as unaffiliated citizen volunteers that can coordinate their efforts at a level of effectiveness higher than any could do acting independently.”

NOLA Natives:  If your on Facebook and from New Orleans, you need to join the NOLA Natives group.  With over 4,000+ members already they keep you updated with the happenings around the city while reminiscing about things like K&B and Hubig’s Pies.

iheartnola:  iheartnola is a website that loves New Orleans.  I mean really loves New Orleans.  I think their logo even has them kissing a Fleur de Lis in it. j/k.  The site is a mix of photography and commentary that shows you around New Orleans.  Like being on one of those Segways in the French Quarter without having to leave your house.

WorkNOLA: Giving people in NOLA a way to find a job or companies a way to post a job, WorkNOLA’s goal is simple: to connect, retain, and attract young talent in New Orleans!

with volunteer manpower as well as unaffiliated citizen volunteers can coordinate their efforts at a level of effectiveness higher than any could do acting independently.

  1. To clarify, the @NOLABroadSquad (in the realm of Twitter) is non-denominational and equal opportunity, with opt-in membership: If you appreciate and celebrate NOLA broads, then you’re in!

  2. NOLA Tech Writer says:

Sounds great! Yall heard that..all are welcome and there a great group of people.
