Jodia.net: A Lifesaver For Freelancers & Small Businesses
For small firms, freelancers, and start ups one of the most difficult things is to keep track of client information, manage invoices, and figuring out who owes you for the work you’ve performed. As a former freelancer, I can attest to the hassle of making sure invoices had been paid or billing clients for the right time. Carrollton Technology Partners, a New Orleans based tech development company wants to change all of that, making it easier for individuals and businesses to worry less about paperwork and focus more time on their customers.
Jodia.net Make It Possible
The idea for Jodia.net actually came from the personal needs of its creators because of the time it took them every month to sent out invoices and track their accounts payable. Jodia was produced in 2002 as an internal application, previously called The Client Application, as a way to track time and billing, client info, files, and to-do lists. The application was never really produced for public use but after other companies began to ask for copies of the system the Jodia developers decided to make it a commercial app.

Jodia has been in development for 2 1/2 years making sure it’s core was solid while additional features were built around it. Chris Reade, Managing Partner at Carrollton Technology Partners & CEO of The Client System Inc. says “Jodia is probably one of the best tested new release products you are going to see. It’s been used internally for three years now with tens of thousands of entries into the system and hundreds of client information”.
Similar to other client system on the web, the Jodia.net website lets you sign up with your companies name as a subdomain of their website (e.g. neworleanstech.jodia.net). The initial sign up allows you to track 1 client, have unlimited users, with 256-bit SSL Encryption. From there, users have the option to pay $19.99 a month to track 2-10 clients, $29.99 a month to track 11 to 50 clients, and $99 a month to track an unlimited number of clients. Once signed in you, have a very user friendly dashboard and management system that allows even a non-tech person to navigate through different areas. It’s core features have the ability to hold client information, track time and billing, send invoice via e-mail or regular mail, create client directories, and generate reports. “There are lots of bells and whistles that make the application shine. Most of the competing apps like Freshbooks and Harvest are time and billing centric whereas our app is centered around the client. I believe Jodia is the first web based client management system for small businesses and freelancers with a focus on its clients” says Reade.
The Jodia.net team also has a myriad of planned releases in the future including the ability to take payments right from the Joida website, using a natural language algorithm giving users the ability to e-mail their hours into the system, opening up the API to developers, and integrating with other sites like Basecamp. Join them for their launch on Oct. 7th, 2009 at the I.P Building at 643 Magazine St. on the 4th floor to hear more about the Jodia product and what it can do for you.
